    What is our Canon Policy?

Post by Admin on Thu Mar 23, 2017 12:59 am

Or, in other words, what will be accepted as data and in what order is it to be accepted?

For Star Trek, I'll take anything from ENT, TOS, TNG, and DS9, without question. VOY and TAS I will accept secondary to these other shows, because I have noted inconsistencies with these shows despite them being included as canon by Paramount. No Books, technical manuals, comics, or videogames are admissible...even Star Trek Online, as Paramount does not consider them canon.

For Star Wars, I have a few points that many will feel are favorative to Trek...but hear me out on why. I am allowing any data gathered from the movies as the overriding data on anything in the Star Wars universe. Right below them I will take data from the CGI TV shows Rebels and The Clone Wars, up to and excluding their unfinished episodes that were released. Books from the Disney canon are allowed (albeit at the lowest possible data and under heavy scrutiny) if the are a novelization, but technical manuals are not permitted, even though they are canon to Star Wars by Disney. The reason for this is because of past contamination of Star Wars Technical manuals by parties from the Great Debate, with numbers ridiculously high in SW's favour. To avoid the risk of again going through this contamination, I will simply state that they are not permissible as evidence. Like with Star Trek, info from videogames is also impermissible.
